Question by Rocking the Free World Since Whenever: How come they don’t make movies (or TV) about African-American families with LOTS of children?
Last night I dreamed I was watching some hokey movie about a family that had about 10-12 kids. You know the type: goofy-looking dad, pretty mother, cutesy kids and a pair of twins that get up to mischief. It was like “Cheaper by the Dozen” but the family were African-American. The plot was really lame and forgettable.

It was only after I woke up that I realised that I’d watched lots of movies like that in real life – but never about a black family. And there are reality TV shows like Eighteen and Counting and Kate Plus 8, but I didn’t know of any about African-American families squeezing out 18 kids or something.

And I guess now I’m wondering: why not? I’m pretty bored with shows like the Duggars, but a show with an African-American family might be refreshing (until I got bored with them as well, anyway).

PS: Please do not say the Cosbys or Family Matters like they did on some other question, because they only had 3-4 children. I’m talking 8-20 children.
Such families might be rare in real life (even though the Duggars are on TV), but for a movie one could hire actors to play the roles of the family members.

I thought the show was supposed to be about the cute kids growing up not the drama between adults (acting like kids).

Hi! I want to make the Gosselin family (from Jon and Kate plus on the Sims. I hope to make their home as realistic as possible. However, I need help figuring out their floor plan for upstairs. Can you help me?

Please describe it to me in great detail, draw a picture (and attach a link to it), or do something else to help.

Also, I know that in one episode Jon and Kate say that their children know where time out is in every room of the house. While they say this, a 3D picture of their home (all three levels) is shown. If you can give me a link to this picture, or the video with it, that would be amazing!!

I think they will stay together for the remainder of the year to do the show and then next season it will be off the air and a few months later, when nobody cares anymore you’ll see something in the media about them filing for divorce. The real shame in the whole thing is how they changed from the money and fame. Instead of making the money and putting it away for their kids education, weddings etc. or upgrading to a nicer but more modest house they went extremely overboard with their “toys”, clothes and image. Kate obviously loves being famous at this point and isn’t going to give it up for anyone, including the well being of her kids.

Gifts are taxed to the giver, not the receiver.

Winnings and prizes are fully taxable, and failure to do so could be hazardous to your bank account. Non-cash winnings are taxable at fair market value.

A few nights ago a Jon and Kate Plus 8 episode aired about how they met. In this episode they showed a clip of Kate and Jon exchanging wedding vows…does anyone remember what the vows were, (especially Kate’s) because her words were every beautiful and I’m trying to get ideas for my wedding vows.

I mean seriously! my aunt wrote a book and her husband cheated on her during the midst of it, Kate and Jon Gosselin split after Kate’s book, and now I just heard on E news right now that while Jenny McCarthy was writing her book her and Jim were going through their divorce! What’s the deal with that?!! I’m never writing a book….
