Are all the children (i.e., the twins and the sextuplets) related to Kate?

On the show, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, how is Aunt Jody related to the family? The kids stay there often and she’s in many episodes, but I’m not sure how she’s the aunt. Can anyone give the information?
