Question by Mami Chulo: Is Kate Gosselin a good example of mothering?
I started watching the TLC show Jon & Kate plus 8 as it seemed to be an interesting insight into the struggles and joys of having so many children. However, as time went on I couldn’t believe the negative, nagging, controlling drama queen that Kate Gosselin showed herself to be! Frankly, the sound of her voice yelling once again, at a child or her husband because they weren’t doing something “right” made me grit my teeth! It became obvious that this is the true colors of this woman, and she really loves being the center of attention and cracks mean-spirited
jokes” at the expense of her husband &/or children for the entertainment of the cameramen! Kate, “Alexis would you like an alligator one day?” a beaming Alexis, “YES! I want an alligator!!” Kate, “well that’s too bad you are never going to get one!” grins at camera..!!! That’s just mean! Frankly, I for one am boycotting the show. I think the kids are cute but, I can’t overlook or try & ignore the “Kate Show” or in anyway support this mean, egotistical, control freak profiting while feeding her massive ego. How disappointing!
freckleface- of course it is necessary to be organized but is it necessary to be hyper-critical, not interactive and just plain MEAN!!! i don’t think so! Would you feel so overwhelmed if you had people cooking, cleaning, doing the laundry, supplying your food, nannying your kids………of course you wouldn’t! It seems as if the more Kate gets ($, vacations, mansion, services, attention for herself) the bitchier she becomes! I for one look to the family shows on TLC for inspiration and encouragement of good parenting….neither of which are evidenced by the negative shrew that Kate has shown herself to be! Look at Amy Roloff of “Little people,big world”, she shows a normal frustration, irritation with her kids behaviors at times, but that is always balanced with a loving concern and guidance & she actually does stuff with her children and ENJOYS THEM!!!!

Okay this makes me really mad…People…ALL Kate Gosselin is is a NOBODY from Pennsylvannia who took fertility drugs and SURPRISE SURPRISE! …had multiple kids. Oh, and it just so happens that her asian husband cheated on her. WHO CARES!! She is a control freak psycho maniac who didn’t even know how to treat her husband or her kids right. She acts like a total diva everywhere she goes, like she’s some big star and the only reason she is even given the time of day is because of her stupid reality show on TLC…which got cancelled. So WHY is she still here? No one wants to hear about her stupid weave that she got to make her little attempt at a fashion trend that toally failed, other wise known as the backwards mullet, go away or her lame tricks on how she lost all of her fat. And I REALLY don’t want to hear about her yet another appearance on reality tv where she can’t even dance to save her life. She is a joke. She was just an everyday person from Pennsylvannia who got turned into a Hollywood monster. Would you like to come to my house and see what my family do? Cause apparently it’s just sooo interesting. The only thing that made that show so crazy was her ridiculous control-freak mind set and turning everything into a hectic mess when there was really no need for it. “OH NO! HANNAH GOT ICE CREAM ON HER SHIRT! SHE’S RUINED SHE’S DONE! JONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! WE NEED TO GO HOME NOW! HELLO!” OhmyGOD woman!

emril came on and they cooked a lot of food well except jon he peeled A LOT of garlic (who knows why). jon and kate actually got along on the episode and they talked to each other. i cant member if they sat in the interview chair together or not. it was an ok episode.

Jon & Kate + 8 is their tv show, but when she got her tummy tuck it was a special on TLC before they started the series so i dont think it would be called that in the first place. Sorry i cannot help you any further, but it might be because you were searching for a show that it wasnt. (same with how the duggars had a few specials before they had 17 kids and counting)

I watched this week’s epsiode where Jon and Kate took all the kids to see where the sextuplets were born, the condo they rented while the babies were in the hospital etc. But I noticed when Kate was talking about how Maddy was upset because she thought it was all about the babies mentioned nothing about Cara. Am I missing something? She never talks about Cara. I think Maddy is her favorite personally. I did like the fact that Jon and Kate actually got along rather well during the interview part but I feel bad for Cara.Anyone else share my view!

I don’t think Maddy is her favorite – she just gets more attention because she’s always acting up. Cara seems to be a very well behaved little girl. Maddy loves to be in charge (which Kate says quite often) and the center of attention. I don’t think they are blind to her ‘acting’ for the camera.
