Question by Completely_inept: Do any of the children on Jon and Kate Plus 8 have physical or mental disabilities?
I have just started watching the show, and really enjoy how honest the parents are about their experiences. I haven’t been watching for long enough to know much about the individual children, but one or two of them have facial features that resemble children with Downs Syndrome. Is this coincidence or do any of these children struggle with disabilities?

One boy (Joel) has hearing aids, and another (Aden) wears glasses. Thats it as far as I know.

Downs syndrome used to be called mongoloid syndrome, the features of a downs child were thought to resemble that of Asian or Mongolian features. Since Jon is 1/2 Korean his kids all have varying degrees of Asian features, some with more Asian eyes than others.

On Jon and Kate Plus Eight when they babysit there kids are with them..I know Talia but i can’t think of the others..help?

Rumor has it that the new mother of the octuplets purposely tried to have multiple births to get fame and fortune; getting the idea from John and Kate plus eight. Which is why no pictures has been released of the babies: she’s holding out for the highest bidder. If she did get a show of her own, would you watch it?
She is now asking for $2 million to do an exclusive interview….

Why would he? His mother was nothing more then a doormat, whom didn’t even stick up for her children while Joe was beating and exploiting ALL those kids.
To me Katherine the mother is worse then Joe, she sacrificed her children for money.
Mother’s today go to prison for allowing any man to beat their children. People are ready to crucify Kate and Jon Gosselin b/c they are “exploiting” their kids with having that show!
So what gives, what makes her so “great” if she sat back like a darn mute and allowed this to happen not only to Michael but all her children? To me, those are the worst mothers ever, that just sit back and don’t say or do sh!t!
yes actually I have seen An American Dream. Honestly it just proves my point even more she is a terrible mother to allow her husband to abuse and exploit her children, she really should be ashamed.

Stanger in VA, that’s bullshit “sweetie” My grandmother(my father’s mother) had an abusive husband too, he started beating on my father and his 4 other sisters. He would smack them in the face, use belts,paddles. My grandmother as a woman and a MOTHER left. That is what a mother does, not what doormat,spineless Katherine did. SHe hasn’t even divorced Joe to this very day!! Hope she likes her mansion hope it was worth it!
I am a fan of Michael. I do think that Kathy loved her kids, but shame on her for not protecting them. That was her job.

To start off, yes, I know the address to their new home. I have “connections” to Kate through a friend named Tyra. Unfortunately, I cannot give it out. Thanks for understanding.

What are some fun and little gifts I can get the 8 children? Things that are affordable “nothings” that entertain kids. I know they already have probably everything they want (ex: V-Tech) as a lot of companies advertise through them, but I’d love to send them a few toys and whatnot.

So far, I have a DIY girl’s project book, 2 glow-in-the-dark sticks, and 2 “invisible pens” with an attatched black light that let you see what you wrote in secret, for Cara & Mady. I plan on getting them a bedroom doorbell that I recently saw at a store in the shape of a flower– I’m sure they want privacy in such a hectic house, and this chiming doorbell with make it fun.

For all 8 of the children, I have these things called “Gong-gi”, which is basically the game Jacks, but Korean. It’s a bit different and I’m sure the children would find it interesting as they’re sparkly and colorful.

Nothing messy like putty, playdoh’s, and markers. Knowing Kate, she would hate to have that sticky nonsense in her brand-new, beautiful home. I know the `tuplets recently have been learning to draw within the lines, cut paper, ect.

What are some other things I can send the kids that are affordable, fun, and lighweight (S&H fees are ridiculously high nowadays!)?

Once again, Oldie, I know her through my friend Tyra. We’ve e-mailed, she knows how I look like, and she’s phoned me the first night Tyra introduced us.

I admit I watch the show even though I find her irritating, but I have been wondering about the affects of constant filming has on the children.

It could be just me, but I feel a difference in the tone in the new season than when it first started. Almost like it is a business.

I just don’t think I would want my children growing up in front of the camera.

Also, how do you think the little ones will feel once they start going to school and the other kids tease them about their mother filming them on the potty or all the times they pooped their pants on national TV?

I wonder.

‘Jon and Kate’ Divorce? The Money Traps Ahead

On television, “Jon & Kate Plus 8” has been a ratings bonanza. But as any divorce lawyer will tell you, “Jon Minus Kate” could be a complex financial maze — with college tuition alone posing a million-dollar dilemma.

As the media spectacle of Jon and Kate Gosselin’s separation — disclosed in Monday night’s episode of their reality show – unfolds, much of the focus will be on what went awry in their marriage, the emotional impact on the couple’s eight kids and how their divorce procedings unfold.

But as with any divorce, financial questions can present complications. In the case of an unusually large family, such as the Gosselins, those complications can be particularly tricky. College costs alone for the eight Gosselin kids could amount to upwards of $1 million, for instance. Though divorcing parents could agree simply to split the future costs of education, for a couple with many children, agreeing now how both spouses contribute to an ongoing savings plan could avoid future strife.

For now, the Gosselins are separating, and no one knows what plot twists might be in store – reconciliation or eventual divorce. In terms of their arrangements, so far the Gosselins have divulged only that their children will remain in their house and that Jon and Kate will take turns with them.

Maybe just a set of twins or triplets…

With everything going on with John and Kate Gosselin, I got to thinking how difficult it must be to save face for the kids when the thought of that person makes your blood boil ha. I do not have children and my parents are married, but I am interested in hearing the responses of people who are experiencing or have experienced this issue.

and where do I get one
I’m a preschool teacher and need one for walking my kids down the hallway to the bathroom each morning. No matter how much you say don’t walk fast or run, the kids will not listen or remember from the last time you don’t them not to do this.
As I preschool teacher I could really use one to walk my students to the bathroom with each morning so we don’t disturb the other classes.

I occasionally have caught episodes of “18 Kids and Counting” and “Jon and Kate Plus 8″, and I have sometimes wondered this. I grew up as an only child, so of course, I got plenty of undivided attention from my mother. (Some would say too much, but that’s another story.) I really wonder how much individual attention the Duggar and Gosselin kids normally get. How often do they have heart-to-heart discussions with their parents? Can it actually be psychologically harmful for children to belong to such a large family?
