I think the divorce was practically inevitable. Kate is a control freak who not only does not care or even love Jon, but I seriously think she has no respect for her children either. She just views them as a bag with the dollar sign on it running around.

It was depressing. I loved the show before the divorce.
I’d more or less agree with you, though. I just feel bad for the children.

The show was so much better in the beggining, but yea I think they both use their kids for money, but it seems more Jon cause he’s running around with Ed Hardy, yea they both care about them but Jon is never around and one episode when Kate had to leave for the weekend cause it was Jon’s time to be with the kids she had to go into some hotel and like has like nothing to do, no friend, no life, pretty sad..
I have never watched the show but from everything I’ve heard and read, the parents are total train wrecks and I feel sorry for the eight children. Divorce is hardest on them. (I started to watch when it first aired and honestly, her controlling and nagging turned me off so I turned the show off. Ugh!)
I think its sad that they are divorcing I think they could’ve worked their issues out. I always thought they had issues but not that bad or deep enough to get a divorce. People can say what they want to say but it was obvious they loved each other and were stressed out b/c they bit off more than they could chew and did it so early in their marriage/ and at such an early age. I think in the beginning they were a small town needy family w/o the resources to provide for their children and the show gave them things not only that they wanted but that they could have never imagined (but it came w/ a HEFTY price tag). And in the end they have allowed the media, greed, and their passive and aggressive natures, and their newfound fame and overpowered egos to ruin their marriage and possibly their children.
I loved the show when it first started but now w/ the latest CNN and GMA interviews (controversies and lies being exposed) I don’t know…I wonder if it was all a publicity stunt w/ Jon’s recent apology and latest stunt he’s pulling. Nowadays, its rare that I catch an episode esp if I can’t find it On Demand.
I completely disagree with you – Kate is histericall but who wouldnt be with 8 kids out of which 6 are the same age. I used to think that she is to harsh on Jon but the fact is – he needs to be in control otherwise he wouldnt do anything at all. He is a douche, all the work around the house and with the kids was on her shoulders anyways and whatever she would ask Jon to do. She would have to ask him to do it and instruct him, because he wouldnt do a thing! Look at him now and his behavior – he is not a college freshmen but he sure is acting like one!
