Sorry, I thought it would be self explanatory for anyone who has seen the show. The woman is a shrew. She screams at her husband and degrades him. She insults her children. But she speaks at churches about how much her Christian faith means to her (for a large fee).

I’m a Christian; so, I know that there’s no such thing as luck. I vaguely know who they are, but not enough to have any idea why you’re asking this question.
Let’s say that the consensus opinion is that they are Christians in name only. What’s the point?

EDIT: Wow. I just read science chick’s answer. I can’t stand it when people are irresponsible about pets. Working at an animal sanctuary, I have to rescue far too many animals who are being neglected, abused or cared for improperly.
I never paid much attention to them or their show so I can’t say I respected them to start with…But if I had had any respect for them I would have lost it after hearing about this thing with the GSDs.
They go to church and seem like nice enough people, I don’t really care . I looked at Kate’s book on Amazon and people said it was very religious, and they are coming out with another one that is entirely pictures of the kids with Bible quotes.
Right now I am just grumpy at the horribly irresponsible way they managed to get two GSD puppies for Christmas presents for their kids without even reading what they had to buy for the poor things. It should work out but my head is still spinning from how hard they made it on themselves!
ADD: GSD is a German Shepherd Dog. Not generally considered beginners dogs, and two puppies at once is usually a no no.
I’ve watched the show a few times, but your question just isn’t clear. Are you asking about something from a particular episode? If so, you need to elaborate.

@ asker: I see. Well, I’ve only seen the show about 4 or 5 times. That’s the extent of my knowledge of them.
Well, I’m not the judge in the first place; God is. They do attend church and celebrate church holidays. They seem to be doing a fairly decent job at raising their children ( I wouldn’t want the job), but Kate treats her husband like he’s one of the kids instead of her husbandly Christian head. In fact, I don’t see Christian headship or wifely submission practiced in their household, at least not what appears on T.V. She’s waaaaaaay too obsessed with cleanliness and seems to boss John around as much as she does her children. Not a good example for her daughters in my opinion. This is just my opinion; not a judgment.
I think your question is totally out of line.
There are many who are Christian in name only.
Many on here make remarks that blow their Christian cover and reveal their real selves as the enemy they are.
Jon & kate will never be isolated on this cause. they have lots of company

Personally, I wouldn’t be either of them for the world – 8 kids, 24 hours a day – They’re beyond christian and have reached sainthood.
I’m wondering when exactly god came down and told you it was YOUR place to decide their level of christianity – oh wait, he didn’t, did he?
When YOU have reached perfection in ALL things, then tell others how imperfect they are.
i know basically who they are, but I haven’t seen enough of them to really form an opinion. I usually only watch TV for the news, sports and PBS.
If her behavior is what you describe, I think I’ll just give it a pass.
Call the Christian Police on them..it might be contagious, everyone turn off your tv sets
I love Jon and Kate! I love their kids, I love everything about that show. If you think that Christians do not shout at their spouses and or their children then you are living in La La Land! The only difference is they do it in front of a camera for everyone who chooses to watch their show to see. The operative word is CHOOSES!!!!!!!!!!! If you do not like it your GOD gave you free will to push the up button on your remote control and watch something else. They are VERY VERY smart people to have turned something like having sextuplets plus twins before that (which could have devastated their family, money, home etc.) into a winning situation by marketing themselves! Why would they not take-up offers of speaking about their faith and get paid for it. Priests, Ministers, Imams, etc. get paid to do it every week when their holy day rolls around. They were dealt a card and they have played it the best way they know how. Don’t fault them for being the real people they are!
who says that christians are supposed to have the same holy or holy looking personality/character? You are judging her based on her personality that is shown on the show which is just bits and parts of who she really is.
