I heard that Pennsylvania state law was that a couple must be separated 2 years before the couple gets a divorce. The only reason I ask is because it was only about a year to year and a half ago that they got their vows renewed. Why would they get their vows renewed if they were seperated?

They were not separated a the time they renewed their vows.
There is some question as to whether or not they are actually “separated” at this time.
To the best of my knowledge, in PA, a couple must be separated with no reconciliation (including sexual encounter) for one year prior to filing for divorce if there is a minor child from the marriage.
