   if he’s not living with the kids then, he’s gonna have to pay child support..
   thats a helluva lot of money for 8 kids

   According to the show, they have shared custody. If they both spend 50/50% time with the chidren, there won’t be a child support award.

   Kate did not ask for support in the divorce. It has been said she was the divorce fast and uncomplicated. Since they will have joint custody and she makes more then him, he will not pay support. She has another book coming out and a few other deals (clothing line with healthtex, speaking tours) plus the 150k an episode they now make, money will not be an issue.
   Now if the show and the books, speeches run dry, then Kate could go back to court and ask for support, if she was the custodial parent. Child support would be based on both incomes but does have a cap. Meaning the more kids you have does not mean you will get x8 the support.

   J&K have joint custody they say so the kids get to stay in the house and have a normal life? but it is more because Kate is starting up her speaking again next week, then a book tour in october and she will be gone for weeks at a time. Jon needs to be there so they can tape the show and keep the $$$ coming in. Just can’t leave kids with nannies. So the joint custody works out best for them, Kate comes home, Jon parties, Kate goes to the spa and signs books, Jon sees the kids. That way the kids can keep the filiming up and the 150k an episode rolls on in.
