I think the episodes are shot about 2 months in advance of airing which is pretty quick.
If you notice from Monday’s episode, they were only talking about separating, not divorce. TLC added the update about them filing for divorce right before they aired the episode.
I’ve heard TLC has only shot between 6 and 8 (out of 40) episodes so far, of which 4 have aired. If that’s true, and new episodes will start up again in late August, then they technically wouldn’t have to start filming again until late July or mid-August.
So the divorce will still be fresh on everyone’s minds. I really don’t know what sort of quality TV you’re supposed to get out of 22 minutes of nothing but 8 bawling kids but apparently TLC thinks we’ll all still be tuning in to watch.
