Do you think it’s greedy for a family who already got a child to see a fertility specialist?

My husband and I have married for 9 years, we had one son. We’re think to have another one, but we tried for almost 3 years, still nothing happen. Do you think it’s selfish to go see a fertility specialist, the worse case scenario ending up like John and Kate plus eight?

Of course it’s not greedy. You have every right to pursue having another child. You are well off, so there is no problem.

I don’t think it’s selfish at all!! I wish you luck on having more children! I just found out I am having #2 today, #1 for my hubby though, and I was scared he was sterile there for awhile, lol. I wouldn’t worry about ending up that Jon & Kate Plus 8. The bad thing about them is they let people in on their lives, I don’t think they would get all this horrible BS about them in magazines and such if it wasn’t for them making a TV show. I would say try without trying. Just try and let things happen without thinking about it. Happened to my sister that way, for almost a year they tried to have a baby, but when they decided to not try and just, go with the flow, she got pregnant! I wish you good luck and Baby Dust!!
Absolutely not! If you can afford one more, go for it. It’s only selfish if the public is paying for your children (like Nadya Suleman)

I don’t think its selfish or greedy to want to have a child at all– unless you are gaining something from it. You seem to just want to have another kid to raise and love. I highly, highly doubt you are doing it for financial gain or anything like that. I don’t consider that greed.
Not at all! If you have the means to have more children, and you both would like more, then go for it!
After all, God said to be fruitful and multiply.
Good luck !!! Definitely go to a fertility specialist. Tell the Dr. to NOT implant too many embryos. By the way, if you did have 3, you would manage . Hopefully, 2 wii be your limit.
No, not selfish at all. Jon & Kate +8 is a unique and not probable scenario.
It is never selfish to have more than 1 child unless you are relying on taxpayer’s hard earned money to pay for him/her.

You are not “greedy” to want another child. That idea started in the 1960′s when a man by the name of Alvin Toffler wrote a book called, Future Shock”. In the book he said that if people did not limit the number of children to 2 that the earth would soon become overpopulated and that the quality of life for every one would become terrible.
Also, it used to be the norm for Caucasian families to have 6 or 8 children and this was something that mothers were proud of. Feminists worked to change the culture so that 6 children was frowned upon and 1 or 2 children was the norm.
In the West, the only people who bought into this new idea was Caucasians who were not Catholic Christians, As an aside; because of this the number of Caucasians are dropping and the people of all other races are increasing. In a 100 years there either will be no caucasians or we will all be put on some small island where we won’t bother anyone:-)
Seriously, the real issue is in vitro fertilization. That’s were the women is given high doses of estrogen so that her ovaries produce many eggs at one time. Those eggs are put in a petri dish and fertilized with her husbands sperm.
Then 6 or 7 of these fertilized eggs are injected into the woman’s uterus so that at least one will attach to the uterine wall and she will become pregnant. The problem with this is the destruction of human life and abortion.
What if all 6 or 7 fertilized eggs attach to the uterine wall and the woman becomes pregnant with 6 or 7 babies. Often the doctor will tell the woman that she must abort some of these children so that the 1 or 2 left will have a good chance to make it to term and delivery.
Also, even if the woman gets pregnant with 3 babies, she may choose to abort 1 or 2 because she doesn’t want 3 more children. Again that means the destruction of human life.
I don’t think that there is anything wrong with seeing a reproduction specialist as long as it doesn’t result in babies that become aborted (murdered). My nephews fiancee did not have in vitro fertilization but was given high doses of estrogen so that she would produce more eggs.
She became pregnant with 3 babies but 1 was only 1/2 size and the doctors told them that if they didn’t abort the small one that all 3 of the babies would die. What a terrible position to be in. Even though they didn’t believe in abortion, what choice did they have? They would not have been in that position if she had not taken the extremely high doses of estrogen.
I care about your family and hope that you will be able to have another child as long as it doesn’t require the killing of an unborn child.
I think if you both want another child it is perfectly fine to see a fertility specialist.
