Did you know Jon & Kate were living apart for two years?

The divorce papers that Kate Gosselin filed on June 22 09 says they have been living apart except for doing the show for the two years.. so basically their while show from that time was a sham, as was the whole vow renewal.
I feel so sorry for the kids who will know later on as they get older that their parents renewal was just for a trip to Hawaii and ratings.
If you were a viewer how do you feel about this and are you still going to watch this sham of a show?

no but umm… I don’t really care ether
i dont know much about any of that all i know is its a shame how the media can just ruin peoples’ lives.
If we stop watching and the rating go down.. TLC will have to cancel the show.. and maybe the Gossiln’s can try and work there problems out.. without the public and media hounding them!
I kind of suspected something was wrong when the kept showing reruns and not anything new. All of a sudden they have a wedding? I feel real bad for the kids. I liked watching the show because of the kids. Some of their remarks and facial expressions are such cuties!
Here is the problem I have. Jon and Kate keep claiming that they do everything for the kids. The kids are their top priority. Kate saying multiple times that they are getting married to show the kids mommy and daddy will always be together and to show them that we that they are not going anywhere. With them separating soon after their wedding renewal what are they really demonstrating to the kids? I am sure they love them. But what are the kids suppose to think and feel after their parents announce their separation right after the wedding? That weddings and vows are not a serious commitment or that mommy and daddy lied? You can’t tell me the kids don’t know or won’t pick up on things. Please kids no more about situations than adults sometimes do. Kids can see it better than adults sometimes do because kids are in the middle of the fighting (not that they aren’t affected). They are on the sidelines and can see everything from both points of view.
Instead of spending their money on trips, if they spent any at all, they should have invested in therapy and counseling. That is if Jon and Kate really wanted to show the kids that they are not going anywhere.
Parents are suppose to protect their kids to the best of their ability and then some. I thinking Kate and Jon have done a really poor job of that especially since they are all over the headlines. I understand that they cannot control the paparazzi (which I think they need to mind their own business). But still they should know that the kids will never have privacy due to their paparazzi.
There are things I learned from Kate about organization. I know that having 8 kids has to be tough especially at the ages of 2 and 3. I understand that there may be some rules like no gum because of the gum everywhere with 8 kids. But Kate needs a serious prescription of chill pills. I have seen her ruin the fun by wanting to clean her compulsive behavior by cleaning in the middle of the fun. She can be such a BITCH.
All in all I will not be watching for a while. I feel that they have lost the value of a family. I feel that Jon and Kate need to be put on the back burner and let them work on their marriage. Which is more important the TLC rating and paparazzi or working on trying to be a real family with the kids as a team?

It means she must wait 2 years from the moment she considered the marriage kaput and began living separately (if only in different bedrooms). We’re told the real separation between Jon and Kate is very recent and Kate checked the box just to get the clock ticking.
We found out Kate checked both boxes, and here’s why. Jon may not agree that the marriage is irretrievably broken. If that’s the case she has to wait the two years. So by checking both boxes, Kate is hedging her bets.

After their “life-changing” episode aired Monday night, viewers found out the couple had filed for divorce.
But, reports earlier today stated that the two had actually been separated for almost two years – leaving everyone to believe they were only doing the show for the money. Duh.
Turns out, though, when Kate or her people filled out the divorce papers, they checked the option that stated the couple has lived separate and apart for two years. That would allow for a divorce pretty soon.
But checking that option just means she has to wait, or has already waited, two years since deciding the marriage was over and they were living separate lives. Even sleeping in different bedrooms could prove they had separate lives and would allow for the divorce to take place right away.

Basically she checked every option available to get the quickest option for a divorce.
But from what we’ve seen of her on TV, we’re hoping Jon signs those papers ASAP!
I am not sure where you got your information from, but the article you have a link to states that they were together up until the last two weeks. As for watching them? no more. They were good when they were real, now they are just two people who have been given too much and they have been spoiled by it all. I wish they could understand that their greed has brought them to this and that they are hurting their kids.
You might want to read the article again because I don’t see that in this article. It says that they have just been living apart and separated for the last two weeks – not years. Things seemed to really have changed once they moved into the new home, but before then they seemed like the same ole couple from the previous seasons.
I was a devoted watcher every night they were on, up until 2 weeks ago. I found that I had TIVO’d it (actually forgot they were on) and then would watch it a few days later with not much interest – which really surprised me.
It use to be a day in the life of this fantastic family who had the same issues I do with my kids, and I could relate. Now it’s cooking with Emeril and having motorcycles made. I want to see the kids because they crack me up. Jon just wanders with a sulky look on his face and Kate seems to be trying too hard for the camera to make up for his lacksidasical attitude. If we had to watch Jon all day, I would be taking a nap.
As for her brother coming forward and putting in his two cents, he needs to keep quiet now along with his wife. If Jon and Kate had not come forth with this news, someone would have gotten a hold of those documents and all the flood gates would have opened on why they didn’t disclose this information. They did the right thing by coming out with it – I just feel for those children. I did not have parents who divorced, but have a friend who has divorced numerous times (with young kids) – any divorce hurts a young child.
All in all, I don’t think they lived apart for two years, I think it happened just recently (like when they moved into the new house). I don’t tend to be as happy and motivated to watch anymore.
